My first ever contest entry.  Only been licensed for two years and this was great fun!

Hope I got the format correct!

Was unable to get on to contest from the start but still managed a
good result

Contest done entirely using a manual paddle key connected to the in-built keyer of the radio, and
using paper log sheets - no computers or WinKeyer used for logging, sending, decoding or spotting.
Rig IC-7300 with ACOM 600S linear. Windom wire antenna for 80-40-20-10m; Inverted-V monoband wire
antenna for 15m.

This is the only entry from Fiji from a resident member officially belonging to the Fiji Association
of Radio Amateurs (FARA), an IARU-recognized member society with its headquarters in Suva, Grid
Locator RH91FV. No other FARA member operates CW at this time other than 3D2AG, hence there was no
Headquarter Station entry from FARA in the contest, using normal report exchanges only of ITU zone
56.

First if all i want to thank ARRL and IARU on this event, I am happy and enjoy this hobby , its my
second time now for IARU HF Championship the 1st I've join 2021 as Club callsign DX0HQ , now in 2022
I used my personal call 4I1EBD anyhow I love radio contact sport using homebrew antenna a barefoot
power with the help of good propagation condition. 73 we say Mabuhay from Philippines.

interesting and enriching experience, many things learned and very pleasant moments shared by the

Portable operation, feeding 20W out of a Xiegu G90 into 40m long
endfed wire +49:1 impedance transformer. wire thrown over a tree,
sloping down to me, feedpoint about 2,5m above ground. 600 MASL.

Due to COVID restrictions, this year I couldn't participate at the DA0HQ team at Ilmenau. So I
worked from home in Ilmenau using an IC-705 and an end-feed Windom (5 meters over ground, hi). Setup
worked well. 1st hours decoded CW only by "brain decoder", then used a WB7FHC CW decoder as support.
But it works not at the fastest stations, so the "brain decoder" was used once more...

Thanks the organizers for the contest and all who dug my qrp sigs
out of the noise. High bands looked pretty good and busy whereas
there was less activity on the low bands. Propagation to the US
was very appealing, however, neglected other areas and missed a lot
of easy multis.

Great partecipation and good propagation condition, really funny.

Very difficult antenna set up.. I had only a delta loop for 12 meters,
tuned, on 10 and 15; and a vertical antenna for 20m.
However, in the time available I anjoyed the contest and made interesting

excessive heat, had 37c in the shack.
Very good propagation, 20M stayed opened
all the night, and worked US stations on 15m

Nice contest for me and my friend Daniele IK2SND... gd conditions to NA during the italian night. CU

I worked the contest for less than 6 hours on 10-15-20 M. and I have
contats with all continents.I say many thanks to all stations that I met

Start with only 50 qso / hour, then a good opening in 15 and 10 meters
with peaks of 100 qso / hour. Much difficulty in 160 (I was listening to
a lot of HQ stations but couldn't connect). On Sunday, always on 10 and
15 meters, I touched 300 qso / hour. Final score higher than the previous
year. High Power category but only 400 watts and single element dipole
antennas.

Condx on higher bands were better than the last year's and some unexpected
opens, which were nice. QSO total was down but multi total and
point per QSO were up a bit, so the scores went up abt 12%.
Nice to work/hear WRTC practice stations. Hope they will prepare enough to do
their best before the event.

Using 5w to 53 foot slopers. Lots of activity. On Saturday evening, bands opened up & for awhile I
was able to work more stations than usual with my minimal setup. Was even able to snag a contact on
SSB, which is extermely rare given my weak signal.

Used indoor fan dipoles and 75 Watts.

Very good contest. 15 meters never closed. 463 QSO Pts and 63 Multipliers. Had fun.
Used Excel filtering to dedupe.

K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. In the
2022 IARU test N3UM and W5MPB operated Multi-1 HP Assisted, N3UM
all CW and W5MPB all SSB. Great condx on 20 M, good on 40 M, OK
on 15 M. Runs were short. We alternated 3-hour shifts, which let
us rest, eat, and do chores. N3UM went first, 12-15Z. On 20 M he
ran for 36 Qs and then 28 Qs clicking spots. Next he got 36 Qs
on 15 M, for 100 Qs and 66 mults by 15Z. W5MPB 15-18Z got 4 Qs
on 10 M and 32 Qs on 20 M, taking our total to 136 Qs and 78
mults by 18Z. On 20 M 18-21Z N3UM ran for 39 of 95 Qs on 20 M,
then 15 Qs on 15 M for 246 Qs & 98 mults total at 21Z. From 21Z
W5MPB got 46 20-M Qs, 18 15-M Qs, and 14 mults for 310 Qs and
111 mults by 00Z. N3UM got our first low-band Qs 00-03Z, 106 on
40 M and 24 on 80 M plus 46 fresh-band mults. W5MPB 03Z to 0602Z
QRT got 47 Qs and 4 mults on 40 M, then 3 20-M Qs, with 2 VK
zone mults! N3UM did a pre-breakfast coda 1045-12Z; he ran on 20
M for 27 of 61 Qs and 1 HQ mult. SFI >130 got us 3D2-Fiji, JA,
VK, HL, and JT on CW, and JA, VK, and A4 on SSB.

My best effort ever. Good path to EU and SA.

Checklog - we used HP in M2 to increase the demand on the ops for rate and coordination with each
other.

Great fun, with lots of good operators.

Summer contests always have some unexpected propagation
surprises. 10m was open all day.  20m was open all night.
Low bands were tough.

My first time with this. It was fun.

Managed 10 hours in the contest despite visitors and general fatique.
Enjoyed some good conditions to Asia Saturday morning, so-so to Europe
on 20 a bit later, but pretty darn good on 15.  10 was a no show.  20
got better later in the day..  I had bad QRN, especially to the
northwest during the afternoon, sorry to those I could not pick
out.  Thanks to all for the QSOs.

Fair to great conditions! A good contest indeed!

This year I really tried to work all the IARU member HQ stations
as a challenge.  I choose CW only and assisted.  I made a list
from my logs for HQ stations just to see how I did and to let
others in my local club know.  Conditions started out just fair
but went to Great on Saturday afternoon to evening and even
Sunday Morning just before the end.   Only did Search & Pounce
and part time.  Kind of wish I would have done some running.
Maybe the next contest. Glad to see the great conditions on 20M
and 15M.   40M was not bad but lots of QRN from storms that
passed through on Saturday Afternoon.

4 Watt QCX+ with Attic Dipole

Running 5 watts with a QRP Labs QCX-mini on 20m only, and my 2nd floor indoor W shaped 20m dipole,
my FT-891 did a pretty good job receiving over a rather high noise floor.  I thank all who worked me
for their patience listening to my weak signal!

INTENDED TO MAKE A FEW QSOS BUT GOT CARRIED AWAY AND DID 12.25 HOURS.

Not the best of cndx but got a big surprise when decided to
go to 15 CW when 20 slowed down and heard headquarters
stations all over EU at 11pm MDST then wrkd them all & 2 vks
a B4 and N9RV about 120 miles north of me. The EU. opening
here at this time of nite is vy rare! EU was hrd here on 20 8am
the 9th to 1a.m. the 10th mostly HQ stns(big guns!)

Casual operating just for fun.

From here, great conditions.  I heard and worked EU on 20 any
hour - day or night.  Look for some really big scorees from the
Big Guns with real antennas.  Lots of noise on 40 and 80 was a
real bust. Checked ten often and found a few signals one time
with the indoor dipole.  Lots of fun!!!  Thanks - 73  tom    Rig
= TenTec Eagle @ 100 Watts.  Antenna = Mag Loop (40 thru 15) and
an Isotron-80 in the attic 12' above garage floor and an indoor
10 meter dipole.

I invited LU2ACH as a CW operator, and it was his first international contest, so after a couple of
hours of nerves to coordinate his CW hearing and the use of the N1MM . Matt started to enjoy the
party that is a contest.

Fun contest. Bad weather here. Thanks for all who made this event successful.

Portable from Cerro Negro Benchmark, SOTA W6/CT-226. KX3 with 5 W
and 66' inverted vee fed with CAT5 single twisted pair. Great to
work KH6 and ZL on 40, EA, OL and SN on 15.

ONE HALF WATT to a 20-Foot End-Fed Wire.
Conditions could have been better, OR
I could have cranked up the power, but
still had fun seeing what 1/2W could do.
Only managed two EU contacts, despite
it being a decent night on 20 meters.

Better conditions than recent years, but the bands were REALLY noisy,
lots of static crashes made copy very difficult.

Was pretty slow after lunch here but I saw a DX opening on 6M so
spent a couple hrs there monitoring after working an OX.  Gald we
can use spotting now so we know what is happening outside of the
contest without being punished in the contest for having that
running.

Portable operation from Medicine Bow National Park in Albany County, Wyoming using Icom IC-7300,
Heil ProMicro on VOX, and a ZS6BKW Inverted Vee.

K4d worked fine until around 0000Z Sunday, then it quit + bricked

A week before the contest I was on vacation with my family and came home 2 hours before the race -
tired and almost voiceless :-) So I decided for CW only. I thought for a long time whether I would
go assisted... Half an hour before the start I found out that one tribander on a separate mast had a
broken lead - another loss added to the fatigue. 
The start of the race was embarrassing, although I felt CONDX were good.
However, after a couple of hours things picked up and I was using perfect CONDX on 15 and 20m until
the early hours. However, I felt that there were fewer stations from the US than there could have
been - the signals even from the west coast were incredibly strong. I haven't heard any stations
from the US/CA on 160m. I couldn't stand it in the morning and went to rest for an hour. The morning
wasn't so good, although there were still workable stations from the US, right up to the end of the
contest. It was a great race!

IARU HF

Needsless to say the Ukrainian HAMs and UARL HQ station were sadly missed during the IARU
Championship. 
In my opinion, it was only fair to disregard any stations from The Russian Federation and Belarus.
Therefore, I did not work any Russian of Belarussian station during the contest.

My station TRX died on Thursday, so I had to set up my mobile station
in my shack and take new habits. I didn't expect much but it worked
out pretty well in the end.
The combination with chasing for 2022WRTC award was great fun.
Everyone on air seemed a bit more relax than other years. I really
enjoyed the contest and am looking forward for next year with the
WRTC
stations on air.

The propagation was good and there was much activity
and all the bands were open so I could make many QSO.
I enjoyed the contest and operating mixed mode.

Missing having contacts with our many Ukrainian friends. Slava Ukraini.

Licenced in 2020. Started studying CW in March 2021. Flexradio
6600, Hexbeam for 10-20m, Hexbeam for 40m, Vertical for 15m.

We operated from Battery Park VE-0883 POTA. Had to halt operation at
night due to noise restrictions. Great signals everywhere. VA1JON and
VE1AWR - Pictou County Amateur Radio Club.

K3 / Optibeam / 80m V / 160m L
dedicate our participation to an old friend, mentor, team member,
and great operator Yuri Romanov  VE3XB who unfortunately passed
away last year.  This is our first MS in three years due to
well-known circumstances.  Our results would not be possible if
not for Dragan  VE3FF who provided the technical help and
expertise to rebuild the station after a lightning strike in
July, 2021.

Tough conditions at the start of the contest, but improved overnight. Thanks to
Duane VE7UF for the use of his excellent contest station and Gabor VE7JH for
organizing the crew and of course to Jim VE7ZO and Ralph VE7XF (as well as
VE7UF, VE7JH) for operating with me. Great to hand out the AC multiplier and I
hope we were able to satisfy the contesters by being active! And yes,

Brilliant conditions on 20m, crowded band with lotsa QRM.  Fun all round.

Used  "SD"  by EI5DI worked very FB

40,20,15 good 10 disappointing and 80 poor. Nothing
heard at all on 160.

Limited operating times. Very good conditions for 15m and 20m.
The 10m band was a poor performer in south east VK land.

As caregiver for my disabled wife , I just don't have a lot of time to
contest.  But , I do enjoy the time I do have and appreciate the
stations that work me.

Very casual effort.  Active storms nearby for much of Saturday.  As a result, Saturday night was
quite noisy on 80 m.  But conditions were much better the next morning so most contacts were made in
the last 90 minutes of the contest.  Despite limited operating time it was a very enjoyable event.

Rig was Ftdx101 and Butternut vertical.
Lots of activity everywhere.  Many good signals.

1st Timer. Had fun .

A part time effort due to my daughters birthday and a horse show was further complicated by a 2 hour
late start and several shut downs during due to lightning. It seemed like when I could operate, the
storms came. 

The contest was still big fun. Bands were pretty weak most of the day but 20m at night was
excellent. 10m was better than most seemed to realize. It was open but not many were on it.

No tower, no beams, just crappy tubing and wire vertical antennas.

GP on 20m base at 10 ft AGL with ONE elevated radial wire. On 40m a bent wire (shape like >) fed one
foor from ground level with top at 27ft, also used for 15m, ground rod and a few wires. Rig is an
IC-7300. 

Still GREAT FUN from Florida! Thanks to all you Big Guns for pulling out my wimpy signal.

Very late start and many fatigue breaks but superb band openings all Saturday night, especially late
after dark here on 15m.

Used a 3-el Yagi --- had a great time!

Born: 19/07/1997 I am participating in the contest in the youth category for the last time.

Casual operation to shake down the new hexbeam, got sucked in and enjoyed my first running of this
contest.  Plan to operate the full 24 next year, as I found the mixed mode operation to be less of a
grind.  All operation on 20m & 15m only.

This is the first time I participated in the IARU HF World
Championship.

To my thinking last years propagation was better.  This
should be an exciting weekend next year!

Very surprised to see the bands opened this time of
year in the South Atlantic which made the contest very
