Limited-time entry, with wire antennas and barefoot radio.

3DA0PA   [photo/doc]
I've enjoyed this contest, it was challenging with only 10W facing up to the big shots, some where
not very patient. But the ones who where are in my log, thanks for that. Has to do with my callsign
3DA0PA, the 3 is hardly heard and many think I'm in Germany. Worked with my IC705 and extended FM
dipole for 10m. 73's David

Maybe emphasize in the rules that Region 1 stations shouldn't transmit above 7200 when using 40
meters.

Concours sympathique et très dynamique. Durant 10 heures de

Part time casual entry this time, to test out new flex 6600m radio. Low 80m half wave dipole at 30ft
agl and 900ft asl. Conditions seemed low on Saturday morning and I missed most of the first part of
Saturday evening due to being called out on a coastguard cliff rescue so I only managed an hour
between 2,30am and 3.30am on my return to home. Managed to work some other low power stations I
think an dmost of the big guns heard me first call. Hope to be back with a more serious entry next
year

We operated K1WAS in the contest. But first we had to move our equipment etc. to make way for new
heating units. The heating units were installed on the Thursday before the contest. Once the
installation was completed, then we had to rearrange and clean up. Only then could we set up our
stations to operate. Talk about pre-contest preparations!
It was a pleasure to operate with a brand new heating unit to keep us all toasty warm - especially
this Winter!

K4PZZ
Worked Friday and Sunday, but put in an earnest effort on Saturday.
Nearly all S&P but the high bands offered plenty of stations to work.
I do wonder why more stations don't work split on 40m to avoid the mess
that is 7125-7200; only found two stations calling CQ below 7125 that
were listening above 7200. Used to be the norm and made things easier.

Plenty of band fills for some DX, an ATNO (*finally* got KH0), and
generally had fun.

Worked a few stations running 50, 25, or 5 watts. Hats off, gents; I
don't have the patience for that. Equally impressive were the multitudes
of JA's that I worked who were barely twitching the S-meter, but got me
first call and without any repeats.

Thanks, as always, for all the Q's!

K4VV
All contacts were made with an indoor antenna and transmitting with 100 watts of power (ICOM
IC-7300). The antenna is an original Cushcraft A3-S 3-element tri-band yagi (10/15 & 20 meters),
which is mounted within the attic above my garage at approximately 15 feet above ground level. The
antenna is pointed in a fixed direction of approximately 45 degrees.

Fun contest for our second remote operation with KD3TB logging-in from his beach house in Delaware,
and with KD3RF & KC3NNO at the transmitter site. Money bands were: 10, 15, & 20 with good
performance on 40 meters. 80 very was very noisy and difficult to hear thru the noise.

We had a problem with the rotator at the transmitter QTH where the azimuth indicator was not working
and our make-do solution was to look out the window with binoculars to see which direction the
antenna was pointing.

Antennas were an Optibeam OB3M tribander at 40 ft, and a Butternut HF-6V vertical. Rig was a K4D /
KPA 1500 combo which performed extremely well. Our goals for the fall contest season are to get the
rotator replaced, and to install a Butternut HF-2 with a more extensive ground screen & radials.

KE2GLS
Thank you to everyone involved with setting up this event. I was licensed in July 2025 and I'm new
to contests. I had no idea that my small station would be able to contact stations over 8,000 miles
away. I wasn't planning on participating because I assumed nobody would hear me. But I saw how
active the bands were, so I decided to try. I'm glad I did.

KE2HGH
I may be a licensed extra taking all the tests as quickly as possible to not forget answers, but I'm
still learning and wanted to try to contesting. I started a little bit on the later side and aimed
for 10k points. Unfortunately, I did not hit that, but I am okay with my results.

I was working primarily from my house or my car in the driveway. While in my house I used my FT-891
powered with a power supply and an ATAS-120A antenna. Where is the antenna in my house? Attached to
an old metal dog crate with a car mount to be used as the ground plane about 1-1.5 ft off the
ground. It amazes me that I could make the contacts with this setup.

I did also make some contacts from my car in the driveway and neighborhood (same grid square). Same
radio and antenna just using battery power.

Surprising factor: just use an FT-891 with an ATAS-120A indoors attached to a dog crate and you can

I really enjoyed the contest. I worked many DX station that I wouldn't have been able to work if
there wasn't a DX contest like this. I even got a state that I needed which was Hawaii! I even got
to work NZ off my 10m speaker wire dipole.

I'm 17 years old and have been loving the hobby! This contest made my day. I didn't work at it to
hard since I had a busy weekend, but the time I did was so worth it.

Good time this year..... noticed many incorrect callsigns on spots. Caller beware.

KF8N
The historic 650KHz activity on 10M the last two years was absent as expected, with a lower total
score. Still some surprise rare stations added some interest and excitement. Sometimes a fine line
between jumping into a pileup at a quiet time hoping for a quick pileup buster and violating the DX
station's instructions. Annoying and too frequent some NA stations transmitting their call sign
because they heard a pile up and not even knowing who they are calling. II9P reacted angrily on
Sunday to some lid who had to ask what his call was after already exchanging information, "Why do
you call me not knowing my call sign?" Great question. This poor practice causes excess QRM.
Probably the first time I've ever heard/worked these three: 7Q Malawi, J5 Guinea-Bissau, and TT
Chad. Thanks to those folks.

First time I participate in a contest. Sorry if I screwed up this submission. I think my original
submission was missing the power tx from the DX station calling CQ. This upload should fix that.

KL5NE
KL5NE in Alaska. The G1 storm yesterday and high Kp today made
this one rough. Openings were limited and after dark the bands
just fell apart. Nighttime operation was nearly nonexistent from
Alaska, so this was very much a work it while its there kind
of contest. Was fun though, lets do it again next year!

KM8AM
Been away a long time. Had time for a few hours and had fun.
Did find all the things that I have to do to get the station back
up to normal - antennas, software, feedlines, and most of all: a
really good cushion for this old rear end...

Scored less than half of last year due (in part) to radio issues for most of Saturday. Propagation
was very poor overnight Saturday until about 1pm Sunday in Orlando. Have nowhere to go but up for
next year!

kiolwatt ect for power.

1st contest ever. Bands were good on 10m and 15m, no luck on 20m or 40m. Operated from backyard
with an FT-891 and ATAS-120A on a small tripod with some ground radials. Fun time!

Another great contest from my station at La Sierra... It was a part time operation as I had some
commitments with the YL most of Saturday. This was a bitter sweet event because I am selling my QTH
and this was my last contest from this location in PR. The equipment, most utilities, and conditions
were outstanding. Our internet service was intermittent on Saturday and I completely lost internet
all day Sunday. The lack of unreliable internet service was one of the reasons I remained in the
unassisted category. My congrats to D4K (IZ4DPV) for tentatively leading the category. I will be off
contesting for a while until I establish a new station at my Virginia house or operate from someone
else QTHs.
Many thanks to my brothers of La Sierra Contest Group: NP3A, KP3N, KP4ZZ, WP4TZ, WP3A, and EB7DX for
the great times operating multi operator contests. We are not an affiliated ARRL club, just a bunch
of friends that get together to contest and have fun. I will be back to operate and vacation but not
to live hihi

Another disappointing Sunday due to the Sun again just like
the CW contest. Unlike Sat. no JAs at all, not even the big guns
on 10. Sat. was wrking some 5 watt JAs and even a YE. No EU
on 10 both days. 15 had the EU prop. 20 did Fri nite and Sat. and
Sun. A.M. but vy short openings on the double hop to SW Mt.
Low bands had horrible QSB and QRN but got some qs on 40.

i had fun, could only do one band this year as we are doing a home remodel so had a 10m vertical up
at around 20 feet, glad brazil was in there or i would of had half the contacts, really hoped for
alot of EU, didnt happen, but still alot of fun.
thankyou to all involved.

6 Meters was open both days of the ARRL DX SSB and I operated portable
on 6. When 6 got slow, got on 10 Meters to hand out a few contest
contacts. Ended up with 26! I received FT8 psk flags from HC2DR on 6 with the 10 Meter antenna. 5
watts and mobile whip on car. Years ago, 6 Meter contacts were counted in the ARRL DX contests. That
would have been interesting in the 2026 DX SSB contest...

I just wanted to take a moment to THANK YOU, ARRL, for the opportunity to compete in this March DX
contest! I am returning to HF radio after a 15 year absence. This is my second contest, CQ 160 was
my first.

It brings back many memories of the loads of fun I had, when I last competed in a contest...back in
2010.

So many thanks and continued success in all that you do for amateur radio!

It's always like a box of chocolates, as Forest would rationalize
when running low power to a ground mounted 6BTV on SSB. Conditions were
much better Friday night Saturday day/night. The magnetic storm killed
10m in the mmorning hours Sunday morning but started to recover about
about the time I had to think about QRTing and take care of house chores.
All S&P. Had a few 45/hr hours, but then that declined fast after all
the easy contacts were in the log! Got knocked off the air most of
Saturday afternoon when a wild slow moving front went through the area.
Lots of lightening, high winds, and driving rain. Made a mess in the
three season room that had to be mopped up. Had fun busting some pile
ups before some of the big guns in the pile made it through. Other
pile ups, not so lucky. You win some, you lose some. S01WS would have
been nice to fill in an SSB mode slot, but that pile was deep and
very unruley. All in all had fun, and got some SSB DX band fills.

Had a great time operating QRP with my 3-band homebrew hexbeam up about 20ft. Worked the contest
Friday and all day Saturday and made 200 contacts 40-10m. My homebrew rotator worked well this
outing and I had reached my previous high score within the first 24 hours of the contest. I had a
family emergency on Sunday so I did not operate at all
On Sunday. Best contact was with a VK station on long path 20m on 5w! Also surprised with several
easy contacts on 40m late Saturday using my EFHW vertical. See you all again in a couple of weeks
for the CQ WPX contest!

NO9E
Occasional operation to test new GXP 17-4 and 4 sq for 160.
Very high static on Saturday with lots of powerlines noise.
After a thunderstorm much quieter. Pretty good conditions
GXP 17-4 at 120' works pretty well as a multiplier antenna.
Bent 4 sq on 160 let me work everythng I hear despite only 8
radials per vertical.

This is my next 39 ARRL DX Contest SSB. I thank the many operators for their patience in receiving
my weak signals. I used a Yaesu FT dx 3000 at 100 watts and a single dipole antenna for the 20-meter
band, suspended 45 meters above the ground in an east-west direction. I will send my QSL cards at
the end of 2026. My log is already on LoTW. See you in 2027, when I will be operating under the
special callsign SP60DVP (https://www.qrz.com/db/SP60DVP) to celebrate 60 years on the air. 73

Absolutely horrible propagation for almost the entire contest. In the auroral zone where I am, it
hit us hard all weekend. 20m was the worst followed by 10m, with 15m being the best. Although the
"best" was very poor.

Being as far west in North America as I am also doesn't help. It was disappointing to hear
easterners working EU and AF and not hearing a peep of those DX stations here. Even the Pacific and
Asia were really poor. Only a small handful of JA's in the log.

All in all, a very frustrating event.

would be lean. It was. I'd worked all the JA I heard on the Fri.
evening, and much of the Caribbean, so the dupe chk was running
full out. My very fun contacts, from the car in CN88 (100 W 1/4
wave genuine Hamstick), were Finland, South Africa, Galapagos
Islands, & Morocco. I was simply glad to be operating as
I'd missed a couple of contests due health & being stuck in the
apt. Thanks to all for digging me out.

My first ARRL DX Contest, It was a lot of fun. So many contacts from Europe. Was happy to work many
QRP stations, 1w and 5w. Zero station issues, 1 antenna for the contest, need to work on more
antennas for next year.

VJ2J   [photo/doc]
Quite remarkable conditions on 10m, with more DX stations heard than those from North America. Token
effort and leveraged the amazing RX sensitivity and low noise of my location to work DX QRP and
apartment style stations. David VK2CZ operating as VJ2J.

Was not going to work this contest , but , great signals the first
evening from Asia and the Pacific got me going. Few signals from
Europe for the most part but , South America made up for it. Stayed
on 10 but checked 15 where more Europe were coming through so , maybe
, could have done better on 15 like I did for the CW contest !!

Tough one this year! I operated out of an apartment, pushing 100 watts into a rain gutter antenna,
so-so propagation and limited time. But enough whining - I had a blast in the limited time I had. I
even managed to make a few points while mobile. Good times!

W2XX
What fun! First serious single-op effort in decades. Joe (KE2AY) was nice enough to invite me to
give his newly resurrected station a drive in this one, and it's every bit as good a QTH as it was
when I operated back here in the 90s (1900s, not 1890s). The new 4-Square on 80 rocks, and I'm sure
this spring will see new aluminum for the high bands go up which will make this station a real
killer.

Thanks to everyone for all the QSOs and the laughs, and to Joe and his wife Judy for the amazing
hospitality.

W7BTM
I spent a total of 14 hours at my home QTH but the most fun was 4 hours on Saturday working our club
call (W7MA) at the contest station owned by Mike Ritz, W7VO (former ARRL VP). Mike is a gracious
contest host gladly sharing the mic and even feeding us breakfast!

During those 4 hours, I was privileged to be able to Elmer Silas Frugia, an enthusiastic 11 year old
who was studying for his license. I helped him work the station and add a few DX QSO's to the club
log. And I believe I convinced him to put study time into the General license as well as Technician
(he really liked that idea). He will be a lifetime ham! Not only that, but his dad will be
studying along with him. I noticed his last name on his study binder (of course he brought that!)
and recognized it. So we looked it up on QRZ and discovered that 3 other members of his extended
family were already hams, including his Grandfather (K7FRU) who turned out to have been a customer
of mine for 20 years! The Amateur Radio world is not as big as it otherwise feels!

Many cool DX moments, but the best was the operator who just wouldn't let me get his call wrong. He
was very weak and I was beaming EU...I kept getting DA0PA or other iterations of a German callsign.
The other ops upbeat persistence kept me engaged.
FINALLY, I got it... THREE! 3DA0PA in the Kingdom of Eswatini, running 10 watts! I could tell he was
as happy as I was that we got it done. I will be ready next time!

Thank you for another fun contest.
Unfortunately, 80 Meters was VERY noisy here making it tough to hear most stations.
Then last night the 80 Meter antenna didn't want to work for most of the evening Then it fixed
itself.
I didn't hear anything on 160 Meters, too much noise.
Lots of great DX to be had this time, much fun.

I had much fun getting new DX entities - especially new islands.
I also made new
good DX QSO's on the 40 M band - phone accomplishments more-over.
Thanks
for this good PH (ssb) DX opportunity. I was glad that both the
15M and 10M
bands had good conditions. I plan to participate on this DX
contest again next year.

WD4OAY
Please require all station to give their callsigns at least every
other QSO. A lot of time was wasted waiting for DX Station to give
their callsigns. Other than that one complaint it was a great
contest.

WQ6X
This was another QRP DX Contest from WA6TQT's Super station in ANZA
which turned out to be a "mixed-bag" as space-WX storms littered the
bands with noise. Additionally, 75-mph winds on the mountain top in
Anza, forced us to park the yagi stacks pointing 45-degrees both afternoons
offering up only a low hung KT-360 yagi to rotate towards Asia.

The signal difference between yagi stacks and a KT-36 is quite dramatic.
Finally managed to run a brief JA-pileup in the last 20-minutes.
Overall, except for a nice opening to Europe on 15/10 Sunday morning,
when that was over the rest of the day was a HUGE struggle.

Stations kept thinking I was a WQ4 and/or that the last callsign letter
was "FOXTROT" - HuH Wassup with that
While not a great contest, 65 countries made it to the QRP Log.

Propagation on various bands was changing from bad to worse over the day,
general 80 WAS SO SO 40 meters was the premiun band, 10 meters at least
from my location, was non-existent.20 and 15 were real nice.in late
afternoon both days Hope se my score on top ten, see again next year

Band conditions on 20 mtrs both days were not good

ZL3VZ
Used elementary antennas - GAP Titan Vertical and ZS6BKW dipole.
Very few heard sufficiently unfortunately and propagation to North
America was not good for long periods. Perhaps not a good contest for
me at this time of year with above gear.
