I was testing my 3 element beam at 8 ft off the ground and this station heard me on 5Watts. I
hadn't noticed Cabrillo logs are different for every contest as I'm not really into contests when
sharing with 1++KW stations with my measly 5watts, but glad I tried!

After many attempts to upload the log, I eventually worked out the formatting with the help of
N1MM+.

I would like to congratulate ARRL for creating this wonderful and very enjoyable contest among all
amateurs. I learned a lot of experiences joining this contest. More power to ARRL (National
Association for Amateur Radio) Good Luck '73.

particular.

Saludos a todos de Tony YV5RAB 4M5A

__________________________________________

The first day was key for my operation. I managed to make over 1600 QSOs in the first 24 hours of
the contest, and I'm glad I took advantage of it because the next 24 hours weren't as good. I'm
quite happy because I surpassed my previous QSO record of almost 1700 in a 48-hour contest. Now,
it's time to keep improving the station and the N1MM Log+ programming to exceed 3,000 QSOs in future
contests. There's still a lot to improve in my small station, always operated with the TS-590S, this
time with 95W and powered as always 100% by solar energy: 100W panel, 36Ah LifePO4 battery, and a
100Ah lead-acid battery as backup in case I have to operate a lot at night when the LifePO4 charge
is no longer sufficient; a 5BDQ Dipole antenna and a Hustler G-2537 vertical that I practically
didn't use.

I used the 59 99 report for convenience. Many were surprised, and others said okay, 100W, and I
emphasized 59 99. I had a good laugh with several who found the report ingenious. Occasionally, I
stumbled over my tongue saying 99, but I find it much easier to say 99 than 100 in English.

You can watch my operation live on my channel https://www.youtube.com/@yv5rab/stream, later I will
put all the QSOs as chapters in the video to make it easier to search for a particular one.

Greetings to all from Tony YV5RAB 4M5A.

Grim conditions. NA stations were invariably engulfed in pile-ups. Better luck next year :)

Most holiday-style QSOs were on CW but I took time to make a few QSOs
in the contest though I was not able to operate at prime time. Very
hard work with 100watts and a vertical but I was pleased to break
the Samoan record which had stood since 1998.

First QSO with Japan. Thank you JH7MQD. Band conditions were
wonderful most of the time; please requisition the same band
conditions for next year's contest. Added nicely to my 5BDXCC
efforts. Great fun! Thanks for all the QSOs.

AC4G
This was a 175 watt, part-time effort (except to QSO 9N7AA on
20m). Conditions not so good Friday and Saturday nights at my
QTH. One issue I encountered was with N1MM keying my rig
everytime I logged a station QSO. This is the first time ever
seeing this, but attribute it to computer issues on my side. I
am sure it is not an N1MM issue. I am having issues with another
application doing funny things as well. I will say that for some
reason N1MM is showing two 14 lines in my contest summary sheet -
wierd. Annoying issues, but that drove me to not participate as
much. May need PC overhaul after this expereince. Did not
participate Sunday morning or afternoon. Thanks for the QSOs and
73.

Enjoyed the contest this year. 10 and 15 were the best bands to me.
I wanted so bad to operate outdoors from the patio this year but it
wasn't to be, just too cold here. Had a great time and a big thank
you to the contest organizers and DX stations!

It was very nice to participate again in the Contest. I worked with only a wire antenna about 10
meters above the ground. My old man (CR8ACL) spent many hours making the operation possible. In the
middle of the Contest, one of the bobines unwind (the wind was strong and it was raining). I had
problems in the 10 and 15 also, because it was not possible to work with the amplifier. On the second
day it was so much hard work because the propagation was not like on the 1th March and I had a huge
local QRM. So, another challenge for me! Thank you all!!!

What an incredible contest weekend! We thought we wouldn’t have any contacts since our G5RV
antenna had a high SWR reading and we were in a remote area. However, we decided to build a 10-meter
dipole, and in the final hour, we managed to get on 10 meters. Beyond making QSOs, our young and
dynamic members honed essential contesting skills, preparing for upcoming challenges like CQ WPX and

Actually, I couldn`t resist. After my first-ever 2BSIQ operation in CW
leg, which was fun, I decided in latest moment to spend some time in SSB
leg via remote. Not a serioud appearance on the bands, but still I found
a bunch of challenges within the part-time activity from Palermo.

Those who ever worked with RemAud without foot-switch will understand
what am I talking about :)). In addition, my kind host, Gabry (IT9RGY) -
who was running with crew of IP4X - needed to resolve several issues
appeard on the station. Many thanks Gabriele for your persistance and
support. Finally, I did not have luck with low bands, but was happy to
hear many of my friends on the three higher bands. Most of the time we
had good propagation conditions, especially on Sunday afternoon/evening.

The Spiderbeam@40m above ground performed quite well, even at outage of
the linear amplifier.

Congratulations to performances of Jose, CT1CJJ as CR6K (SOAB) and Roli
LY4A; Randy, K5ZD (last one from his home in Mass.); Vlado, E70T@E7DX
@15m; IP4X (M/2). Respect to all the ohter not mentioned high
scorers.

At the other hand, I feel sorrow with Braco @KH6J, who was losing his
voice at the certain moment and Ivo, S57AL (Bithday Kid) who stayed
without power supply at the finish.

Many thanks to all for the exchanges. I enjoyed the weekend socializing
with you all on the bands and looking forwart to seeing you down the log
in the CQ QPX CW Contest again.

Enjoyed some success with 100 watts and a wire (doublet antenna at 35 feet). Many contacts made on

All contacts were made using one indoor antenna. Due to HOA antenna restrictions, I have mounted a

Station: IC-7610, AL-1200 amp, F12 C33 yagi, 40/80/160 sloper at 85 ft
My pet peeve is stations who do not give their call and just say QRZ.
I waste too much time waiting for an ID to either give a call or to
discover it will be a DUPE. KP2M was the worse offender, only sending
QRZ with no callsign for over 12 minutes then saying it so fast it was
difficult to understand. Second peeve are stations who give their call
too fast. With QSB, QRM, and accents I had to listen for a long time
to get the call of several stations. One DX keeping calling CQ with his
call really fast with no replies. I finally sent YOUR CALL and he
sent it again too fast. I replied YOUR CALL SLOWER and he replied
with his call much slower. I needed him and completed the contact and
then a small pile up or five or so people began calling him. So I wasn't
the only one who could not copy his call. After that I started using the
DX Cluster to check for spots of the stations either not giving their
calls or sending too fast to understand. Normally I enter as not
assisted but I waste too much time trying to copy others calls.
I was disappointed with 20 mtrs. Did not hear much activity. 10 meters
was my best band with 15 next.

I'm only running 100 watts with an endfed wire so my reach was limited but I absolutely loved it
when stations were like "hold up, there's a YL station. YL station only please" 🥰 I had a ton of
fun and lots of great sportsmanship, I just wish I could have spent more time on the air but family
comes first. I'm looking forward to the next contest!!

Great contest, absolutely awesome conditions on 10 meters with excellent openings into the Pacific,
China, Japan, Guam, Mariana islands.

We lost about 2 1/2 hours of op time at the very beginning when my K4/KPA-500/Kpod stared acting-up.
Very strange behavior that we tracked back to induced RFI on the USB cable to the Kpod. Basically,
every time we transmitted the K4 (not the KPA 1500) would go into tune mode and send a tune command
at the end of every transmission.

As is usual, we tried everything else first. Rebooted the rig multiple times, rebooted the
amplifier, restored the K4's configuration more than once, and even put ferrites on the USB cable to
the Kpod. Apparently RFI was getting into the Kpod which interpreted it as a "Tune" command. We
determined it was the 10 ft Chinesium braided cable and replaced it with a much shorter one. The
rest of the contest went well except for a few more grey hairs when I imagined the worst, hi hi.

KD4ACG
My strategy was quality over quantity...Run as an assisted
station, chase the multipliers and knock them off the list as
quick as I can. Not a powerful enough station to run a frequency,
so it was all Search and Pounce, with heavy emphasis on the
pounce. Results were better than expected. I probably ended up
filling in a number of holes in my DXCC list.
I quickly learned the hazards of running Assisted. I ran into numerous
errors on the DX Cluster. I don't know if it's people being
sloppy, careless, or downright malicious, but it definitely
required taking extra time to confirm that the station on the
spot, was definitely the station I was trying to work. If the
Cluster contains this many errors, I can't imagine what their
logs look like.
Still, I was happy to put in a substantial effort on a major contest. It had been a while.

Great Contest. I believe this is my first time in this one.

KD9WIF   [photo/doc]
I was so excited to be participated in this ARRL International DX SSB.
My thinking is about how to make "HAM's life easier in the time to sending their log data. There
will be great to use ready table for every body of HAMs to fill out their confirmation data
(QSO/QSL). Also, there will be phantastic method to send out to ARRL log data automatically from any
log organization. So, HAMs need to be only to involve in participation of a contest and log their
connection log.
Hope on easier HAM's life in future contest participation.
Thank you in advance for consideration.

Thanks for this contest again and for all the DX that dug out my signal. Fantastic opening initial
hours into darkness on 28 and 21 MHz from Virginia to Japan and Hawaii, and my first ever BV contact
in 55 years. Disappointed with 40M compared to my totals from previous 2 years, either propagation
or not as many stations I could find. First 24 hours had a pace which would have broken my personal
best but as usual quickly had difficulty finding new stations, so didn’t finish quite as high as
last year. First 13 stations I tuned at 1030Z Sunday morning were all dupes. So much time wasted on
Sundays just tuning with my Search and Pounce mode. Still finished almost 800,000 SOLP Virginia.
Someday our grandkids may ask “Tell me again about the great SSB Contests when 10 meters was full
of signals over 650 KHz”. Let’s appreciate the peaks of the sunspot cycle that gives us a
bangin’ ten meters (10-10 #5802).

Got some good BIC time. The K index was high Friday and Saturday
nights so no 160 and not much 80M. Things perked up Saturday AM
with JAs on 40M. Saturday was good all day for SA, however as
usual lots of SA was using their bathroom as a shack, plus
claiming 100W with big signals. 10M had guys with wiiiiide
signals- wowza! And what's with never giving your callsign Meh!
After chasing my footswitch Friday night and all day Saturday I
finally taped it down.Sunday 20, 15 and 10 were wall-to-wall
signals, with 10M up too 29 MHz. Only got one good run on 10 but
it was very productive, over 140/hr for two hours. Thanks for the

This is my favorite contest, but I didn't attach too much importance to preparations. Aurora, on the
other hand, prepared perfectly for both the CW and SSB parts 🥲 Very weak first night, my beverage
150m and Hi-Z are too weak for this propagation. Many stations heard me, but I didn't hear them at
all. On Saturday late afternoon, a great opening on 10m, but for a very short time. Even 20m ended
at 20utc, but that's where the best hourly rate of 230qso/h. At Sunday morning nothing happend. Only
in the afternoon did the upper bands open very well, because the Kp index started go down. 20m
worked very well until the end of the contest, constantly 😎

Without any technical problems. MOAS manages the station exceptionally well, it will soon receive
new improvements. I also need to develop low band RX Antennas.

See you in WPX SSB!

I would like to be in category Single Operator High Power, not Single Operator

Really enjoyed this contest. Conditions were great on 10 and 15 meters and I managed a few atnos!
Always surprises me when my simple inverted v fan dipole squeezed into my small city back yard
allows me to work DX!

I resubmitted my log without the 'limited antennas' designation because I did so
well on 10m with a monoband Yagi-Uda antenna (Mr. Uda never gets the credit he
equally deserves, BTW!) Everything else I have is a vertical or homebrew wire
antenna for HF, but the beam disqualifies me from the 'limited' classification if
I use it, and I used the HECK out of it! :)

Great contest! Thanks, ARRL!

used kenwood TS 870 and multiband vertical , LIMITED antennas. and
LIMITED time no more than 24 hours.
10 opened up, 15 was good for while. 20 made QSOs 40 was rough
for me as usual. I tried. participated.

My Dad (WA4BD) sent me a text telling me that the contest was on and the bands were hot, so I
thought that I would give it a go. I'm mostly a POTA operator, so I hopped in the car, drove to a
local park and did the contest with mag mount antennas. Not half bad, I'd say.

That was neat. I was recently encouraged by a friend, posting to our new contesting e-mail list, to
look for Section records not tackled or possibly within reach. To that end I checked out 10 & 15 m
on the Friday evening with the thought of trying SOSB. Considered 15 m as a band of choice yet come
Sat. it was 10 m that held my attention. So, first time I've entered as a SOSB, up until now SOAB.
My first contact of the 'test was the Galapagos Islands! Wow! Sat and Sun I got down to business,
and while the long time in the car cost me a sore back after, I seem to have 99 contacts on 10 m.
I'm pretty happy. I noted a few things to help brief new contesters later, and have honed some of my
technique. The 1/4 wave mono-band whips do well enough, for now, esp. at the upper HF bands. I ran
across some new-to-me prefixes here and there. Thank you to all who offered contacts. 73

Operating 10m only because a windstorm took down my multiband wire, I had to decide when to head
outside and hand-rotate the Moxon beam. First afternoon I switched from Europe to the south too late
and the SA and Caribbean couldn't hear my QRP, but on Sunday I caught them.

VP5M
Another great week at Harbour Rock, Turks & Caicos for returning team Wayne, KU4V, Jim, K4QPL and
Eric, NR4O with Mike,W9RE, here for the first time but fitting in with the team, the station and the
contest like the pro he is. We were honored to have him with us and we all learned some new skills
from him, especially on rounding up mults that can make such a huge difference to the final score.
We were still behind our 2023 record score, but close enough to be very proud of the team and the
results.
The low bands were not very good this year with local static crashes making copy extremely
difficult, even from stations who could copy our low power station. Station setup was basically
unchanged from CQ WW. 40M was considerably below our 2023 total.
Everything performed as it should except for losing an hour of operating time in the 0900 hour
Saturday night when Jim offered the others much needed sleep by taking the late shift single-handed
and dozing off himself when activity dropped to about zero. Good thing the radio wasn't on CQ-Repeat
at the time!
Despite the ribbing, I think the crew was sharper on Sunday from the rest and had some really
impressive second day results.
Thanks to all for the Q's and helping us by moving to attempt needed mults and being patient when
noise made copy here very difficult.

Some interesting PROP. this year. Skipping over most of Europe and
working Russia Also , Oceania was sparse Was happy with my
results what with the limited time I had to work the contest this
year. Also , seems a lot of the regulars were missing this year.

A solid effort from the SLU ARC team!

President KK8C and VP KF0NXH held the fort down for Friday night. Saturday was lackluster in the
morning as the team was enjoying the festivities of St. Louis Mardi Gras. KK8C was back on Saturday
evening post-dinner. Thomas (unlicensed) took a crack at working some EU and UA DX. Both retired for
the night having just under 100k points. Waking up early to campus construction, he came back to the
shack in the early hours to chase EU on 10/15. VP KF0NXK joined in the afternoon to provide support
until the end at 2359z. Overall a solid effort and a good time for all at SLU ARC.

Great to hear everyone from around the world, on the air working together, to make this event a
success for all. Thanks as always to ARRL for making this happen. The W2NTN operation for this
event was single operator, about half the contest period, with the amplifier on, using only a dipole
antenna. Lots of fun!

W2STM
I've been a ham since 1957, so I've seen the highs and lows of HF propagation. The conditions on 15
meters on the second day were startling. In 39 minutes with 90 watts and a beam that is stuck
pointing to Europe, I worked Europe from Portugal to Finland, Madeira Island in Africa, more than
half of the Caribbean Islands, and two Japanese stations. Great fun. Great contest.

The bands were in pretty good shape the whole contest. 20 meters was absolutely packed on Sunday.

time. I feeI I did well considering I only have 100 watts and a dipole up 30ft!

I have been fortunate to participate in both the ARRL DX CW and ARRK
DX SSB contests for over 50 years. For the past several years, I have
been focusing on single band efforts for these events, typically on 10
Meters, typically running QRP. 25 years ago, I had done some low
band effort on 40 Meters CW and SSB with the latter being split
operation. I even did 80 Meter CW but never did 80 Meter SSB. Part
of the reason was my house was on a small lot and putting up an 80
Meter antenna required some fancy arranging in the yard. So
recently, I was able to put an L-shape antenna on my property for 80
Meters and it loaded up pretty good, So, for the CW portion of the
contest, I worked 80 Meters and was debating between operating on
either 80 or 10 Meters for the SSB portion of the contest. I chose to
do 80 Meter SSB as I had a lot of things going on during the day, so I
could do the band at night for DX.

I will tell you that the SSB portion of 80 Meters is a strange band to
work DX on. You have many US stations rag chewing about inane
subject matters during the nighttime hours on 80 Meters and it was a
challenge to locate and dig out the weaker DX signals that were
situated between these louder stateside stations. I think that it
was easier with a different band plan on 80 Meters 25 years ago where
split frequency operation was the rule. I am amazed at how well the
DX stations were able to hear my 100 Watt signal. It was fun to try a
new band for the contest!

WB2JTE
Bands were open! I wish the stations with the pileup would ID clearly and more frequently. Spent too
much time waiting to hear their callsign. Lots of fun anyway.

WB2WFJ
After participating on and off over the weekend, it will nice not having to listen to fast spoken,
almost shouted call signs and overdriven audio from way too many operators.

WB3X
My third contest after 25 years off the air. Pen and paper logging and casual (not "all-out")
effort. (I missed at least ten to 11 hours out of the contest period - maybe even a little more, for
meals, sleep and the Bermuda Net.) Limited Antenna overlay - single EFHW at 30 feet was surprisingly
effective.

WE2A
This was my first long contest in nearly 10 years. My observations. The Dx stations running stations
are slow to give their callsign. NA stations don't seem to listen to the DX stations operting
technique and call while they are trying to complete a contact, they just keep calling. I had a good
time, but my one wire antenna seemed to have a problem after some high winds came through and I had
to constantly change my tuner adjustments from their normal settings. I have plenty of antenna work
to get done once the snow melts, so this is just one more item to be worked on.

WE6EZ
Band conditions on 10M were excellent, with generally polite operation. The bad operation came from
some DX stations not identifying themselves properly. A few of them worked more than 10 stations in
a row by only asking QRZ after each QSO. That should be penalized! I enjoyed the contest anyway!!

WM7Z
Great contest as always! The were good and everyone played
nicely. Thanks to all.

WP3GW
Pretty good conditions on 10 meters and this year heard many
stations going on 100 watts.

WQ6X
This was a semi-serious WQ6X QRP operation from Ramona Ca.
The weekend was littered with Space-WX noise and yet there was amazing
10m & 15m openings to EU again this weekend. Then again, it seemed that
JA participation was WaY down.

My biggest beef in this contest is that operators need to STFD. Slow DOWN.
Weird accents, polar flutter and junky Space-Wx effects can chop intelligibility
out of hasty voices. The time you save by speaking too fast is time wasted when
your repeat-rate goes up, or nobody calls in because we can't understand you.
This weekend I re-recorded two WQ6X ID memories (FKEY-4)saying my call S-L-O-W-L-Y.
Doing that reduced the number of callsign repeats by about 80%.

My other beef is when a station says "WQ6" or "Q6X" and then instead decides
to work KB6LID who boomed in on top of me - wassup with that Just because we
are weak is no reason to move on. The REAL answer is to tell others to STFU!
