It was vy vy nice winter contest, with nice guests ops (S55OO & 9A3SMS) and great contest
atmposphere.

We use 3 station, each with own antenna and PA.

Run 7el@20m, Mult/inband OB16-3@8m (60m away from run), Inband 2 PRO67B @8m (220m away from Run

Had a lot of fun this year as usual in this contest.

but I ended up getting close to my goal for this year.

difficult. This competition is really tough.

As an 18-year-old college student, I was thrilled to take part in my first shortwave contest and
make my first international radio contacts. In total, I connected with 32 stations: 31 were from
Russia, Ukraine, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, and Japan, and 1 was from
China. I’m truly grateful for this contest—it gave me an incredible opportunity to meet so many
foreign friends through the airwaves.
December 13th and 14th in Nanjing were bitterly cold, with temperatures hovering around 7°C and a
low of -1°C. On the 13th, I was shaking nonstop from the freezing wind and had to keep moving just
to stay warm. Setting up a radio station outdoors was certainly a challenge, but chatting with
fellow enthusiasts over the air made me forget all about the cold—and even the little worries of
daily life.
I hope you (the reader) and I can both hold onto this passion for exploration and connection,
whether through radio waves or other paths that bring us closer to the world.

The propagation was not so good during those days, and the background noise wasn't as low as
expected, but the fun continued nonetheless.

Something very embarrassing happened: I forgot to bring my laptop on the next morning when I got
there, so I had to log QSOs with pen and paper. It was a bit nostalgic and quite interesting. My
wife sent the computer to me via a long trip to this wild place in time. Thanks to her support.

This was my second ARRL 10m contest, my aim to improve on last years score!

Saturday was pretty good (601 contacts), although almost no contacts from the far east. Sunday's
conditions were pretty poor (362 contacts), only a couple of hours at a decent pace late morning
around 10:30-12:30 UTC. The usual dip in mid afternoon was followed by ever decreasing signals,
every contact from here (Portugal) to the US was a big effort. Band started to pickup again around
16:30 just in time for the grey line to sweep over and take it away again.

I might have picked up a few more on Saturday if I'd realised that self spotting was allowed, DOH!

Still can't complain, 80W into a 5/8 wave vertical.

CT7BTL
Condition were fair on Saturday, but way down on Sunday
unfortunately. With 100W and a dipole things get difficult.
Anyway, had fun so let's hope next year the solar cycle still
provides enough ionisation up above us for the 10m band to be
open ...

DA1TT
Afther 701 QSO's the band suddenly dropped down, but it was a lot of fun again.
In CW I made almost all of the states inside the USA, with the exception of Oregon and Wyoming. Then
HI and AK were out of reach. For the Canadian, I missed LB (it just didn't come through the
pile-up), furthermore BC, NY, NU and YT were not heard. Also only 4 Mexican multies.
In SSB, I missed some more: no Okie from Kanokie, no DC and most of the Midwest was also not in the
log, therefore SD and on my CQ callinhg i got a repply from Nebraska :-), also only 5 canadian and 3
Mexican multies.
My impression was that saterday was better then sunday.

DF5EN
Last year 100 watts, this year 600 watts. Same beam antenna, same motivation, same QSO time, same
number of QSOs. The bitter conclusion: Solar cycle 25 has already lost power. Let's hope that 2025
was just a dip and that conditions will improve again in 2026.

Quite good condx on Saturday to the east, and specially to the west coast in the afternoon, with
many CA stations in the log.
Sunday was different, and poor condx all day made tough to increase the number of Qs. Not a big

I thoroughly enjoyed the contest, always do. 10m being the band I really enjoy working., Although
having very little real estate I only have an end fed wire of 75' bent in a 'U' shape around the
garden, it is a bit of a struggle against the big boys, but that's the real challenge in persevering
to make that DX call. Yes, sometimes it takes about 10-12 minutes to get through but it's great when
you do. Look forward to next year, perhaps I will have the facilities to put up a better antenna,

We decided in the last minute to participate again, as we had a few logistic issues limiting our
chances to focus properly on Multipliers
Yet, we couldn't miss the good 10m condx so we ended up using a simple old strategy: running pileups
as long as possible and have fun ;-)
Our congratulations to the HB2T team: their strategy was better, but we managed keep up better
rates. Great to have a good competitor in HB9 !

while on Sunday, it was really poor, with some moments of

I started operating on the second day because I had other
commitments on the first day. On the second day, the operating
time was shortened due to rain and QRN. The 10-meter band is
interesting. There were many stations I could hear, but I was
able to make QSO with only a few. I enjoyed this contest and am
grateful to everyone who made contact with me.73

K3CCR
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W5MPB did Multi-Op HP in the 2025 ARRL 10 M test. N3UM got all our
CW Qs, W5MPB all our SSB Qs. We hoped to beat our 2024 ARRL 10 M
result, 767 Qs and a score claim of 579,840. Nope; we got 0.61 X
the Q points & 0.85 X the mults in 2025 for 0.52 X our 2024 score.
SFI was 122 & 114 vs 165 in 2024. N3UM did Sat. only due to non-
ham-radio things, but SSB Qs were down too; 0.77 X. At 00Z start
W5MPB got 37 Qs MD-CA + PY-LU for 13 total mults at 0215Z QRT. On
CW 1232-1412Z N3UM got 74 QS, mostly EUs, + 56 cty mults. W5MPB
1420-1625Z got 78 Qs, most EUs, and broke to eat. Back 1718-1954Z
W5MPB got 80 Qs & 20 St/Pv mults, out to HI. From 1957-2214Z N3UM
got 102 Qs & 30 St/Pv mults; DE & DC to CA & HI. He did our only run 2223-2249Z QRT for 20 Qs,
47/hr. W5MPB 2303-2348Z QRT got 9 Qs
& 4 hard St/Pv mults, DE, NS, PE, & OR. On agn 1240-1630Z, W5MPB
got 80 Qs & quit for lunch. Back on 1805-1957Z W5MPB got just 31
Qs in 1.9 hrs. Typical Sun. PM; a few Qs in a few min, then wait
10 min. or more for the bandmap to refill. Then 2030-2247Z he
scraped up 26 Qs, 6 in the last 47 min, & quit; no workable sigs.

Rig: Elecraft K3+ with Heil HC4 mic element
Antennas: three MFJ-1890 10M Moxons in home 2nd floor attic at 26 ft; one oriented to Europe, one to
S/C America, and one to West Coast
Comments:
Plans did not work out for a beach site operation this time. With only one family commitment early
evening Friday, I was prepared to put in an almost full-time effort (as long as the band was open).
Since this was going to be at the home QTH, my initial goal was to work 400 Qs to match last
year’s results (from home also) and add to the PVRC club total. I was hoping that the extra BIC
time would allow for an increased QSO total. In addition, following the Online Scoreboard really
helped maintain the BIC time. There was a N5 station that was ahead of me and I worked hard, nipping
at his heels most of the time, catching up and passing him a few times, but in the end, even though
I had more mults, he came back near the end and beat me with more QSOs.
With the primary #98 K3+ freshly back from minor surgery and updating at the Elecraft hospital, I
went into this effort with visions of the CQWWSSB from October. I spent some time in the attic
trying to determine how to replace the Europe-oriented Moxon with maybe a 3 or 4 element yagi. It
would have required losing the West Coast Moxon and lowering the S/C America Moxon, plus replacing a
lot of HVAC duct metal support straps. In the end, I decided to keep things as-is. That was a good
decision, since the West Coast Moxon pulled-its-weight in working a number of XE and the one KH6.
Propagation often seemed to be skewed, and I found the West Coast Moxon also played better with most
of the weak S. American stations. I had also considered installing an end-fed half wave vertical in
the one tree on the lot and entering the Limited Antenna category. But that would have put me in the
loop for a visit from the HOA police.
The 10M propagation forecast for Friday and Saturday were not promising with words like degrading
and blackout. That turned out to be very true! I missed the first 1.5 hours of the start Friday
evening, but was still happy to get 14 QSOs before calling it for the evening. The band seemed to
start slow Saturday morning and never fully opened to all of Europe. When I found D4C only a little
above the noise, I knew that forecast was coming true! So this effort quickly changed from a
potential 50/50 split of running versus S&P to 90% S&P. With the bad band conditions, the few short
runs were just not productive at low power and compromised antennas. All day Saturday there was a
lot of QSB on almost every Europe signal. I still eked out a 4X, KH6 and lots of weak S/C America
stations before the band closed out around 2300Z. Good timing since there was a hockey game to watch
on the tele.
Sunday morning was even worse than Saturday morning but I still managed to snag an OD5, TA3 and V55.
Formerly easy countries to work were hard. Wow…I was so glad that I had not tried this as a
limited antenna category! I spent the day tuning the band from 28.300 up to 28.800 trying to work
every weak signal that was readable. I stopped a little after 2200Z to watch another hockey game,
but did come back a few times to check if there was a band change before the contest ended.
And to make matters even worse, there was an intermittent nearby S-3 to 5 noise source that often
blocked me from hearing the weaker stations. This started both Saturday and Sunday mornings (1300Z
to 1400Z) just as the band opened to Europe and again in the afternoons as things were good toward
S/C America. It was a strange noise that seemed to be at a higher frequency than power line noise,
that would come on with a few short bursts and then stay on for a number of minutes then cycle on
and off, mostly on, for maybe 15 minutes. I contemplated pulling out the little AM/FM/SW portable
radio and walking the nearby streets. However, I decided to do it on a warmer day. As I write this
on Monday morning, the noise just started at 1415.
So, I can’t say that this was a fun effort. I did not reach my QSO goal and I spent too much time
BIC to squeeze out those 353 QSOs. Although, I do feel lucky that I was able to make as many of
those weak signal QSOs that I did.

Had fun on 10M SSB after not doing a contest in a while. Felt like a rookie was using a new Windows
11 machine and had to obtain and install N3FJP 10M setup for the contest. Only decided to do it on
Friday Evening when I went over to 10M that evening and found it active. Looked over the rules,
decided to just do 10M SSB Phone. Was late getting started but really just wanted to give it a try
after some K5EOK members said they were going to operate. I didn't see them but did talk to some
Saturday morning and a breakfast QSO. In the end I ran about 13 hours over 12 so marked as 24 hours.
At first I had to figure out why I could not get the DX logs to go in but N3FJP 10 M logger was
trying to make sure my inputs were valid. I had it in a small window and could not see # after the
states. Sorry if I missed a few of you but it was exciting. Hope everyone had fun I wrapped up
early to make sure I was out by Sunday morning UTC (about 5pm CST only working part of the afternoon
on Saturday. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! Thanks to the kind professional
operators that help getting us going again, be kind it a hobby we want all to have fun. K5SRT-Ross

This was my first contest in two years. In fact, this was my first
time in front of an HF radio in two years. Many thanks to George for
checking in with me to see if I'd still be interested in operating
the contest. The 10 Meter Contest is one I really enjoy and I'm
grateful for the opportunities to play radio. I think this is my
22nd ARRL 10 Meter Contest in 24 years.

Being so very out of practice, I was a bit nervous with how things
would go. Fortunately, Friday night had some solid Eskip and there
were good rates for the first three and a half hours to get the
blood pumping a bit.

Saturday morning was fun with the opening to Europe and starting to
pick up the New England and eastern Canada multipliers. Nothing
really exotic happened - no long path or any really crazy rare
multipliers. The fun really began at the end of the 1700 UTC hour
when I am pretty sure we had strong Eskip develop here in North
America and the rates really took off. It lasted for about three
hours and was so fun. The rhythm of working one station after
another with almost no repeats or fills or hesitations, smoothly,
over and over again, feels very special when it happens.

Sunday was unfortunately slower than Friday night or Saturday.
Conditions to Europe did not feel nearly as good - I wasn't hearing
as many stations as far east or north as I did on Saturday. I
never did hear OH or ES in the contest. We did not get a repeat
of the Eskip, either, so the rates were much more modest. At
points, I felt like I was working a hopelessly large number of dupes,
but I guess in the end it was a fairly normal amount.

The K5TR station is really outstanding. I was able to come in with
no operating practice for two years, sit down at a new radio (it was
my first time using an Elecraft K4) and a completely new antenna
switching setup, and everything was effortless. It makes operating
a contest a joy.

K5UZ
I had limited time this year and the score suffered. However I did break 1000 Q's with limited time
and hit my rate goals during EU runs. Conditions weren't as good Sunday as they were Saturday. Too
bad my time was limited Saturday into EU. Next year I get the whole weekend. Two new DXCC entities
worked. Overall, the 10m 'test is a blast as always.

Ten meters, always a fun band, thanks to all I contacted! 73, Dennis K6DF

K6FA
Wish I would have had more time to operate...

K6MUG
This was my best 10 meter contest despite not hearing any
Europeans. Previous best was way back in 2011. This year I had 9
more Qs and 3 more mults, but worked another 1.4 hours to do it.

K6NR
I operated remotely from Williams, Arizona.

Conditions were interesting. Friday after about 0130 I could still
hear very strong stations from Asia, but they could not hear me.
I didn't hear much Eu, but I started late both Saturday and Sunday
morning. When I called CQ I had a torrent of extremely strong
US stations calling from all parts of the country. Just 2 or 3 EU
stations. On Sunday close-in stations in California and other
states near Arizona were much stronger than is typical.

I ran 500 watts from a K4/KPA500 to a 4 element yagi up at about
40 feet. Station elevation is 7000 feet. Really enjoyed the lack of
QRN that I hear all too well in California.

Thanks for the QSOs.

K6T
THis was a last-minute QRP run as K6T.
This was an ad-HOC mixed-mode run to to take 1st-place for SDIE and the SW Division.
Unless log mistakes DING the score, it would seem that I accomplished that goal.
I ran Friday evening, part of Saturday and Sunday morning.
Oh well, it would seem I made enough QSOs for a QRP high score.
Look for a write-up on this at: http://WQ6X.Blogspot.com.

K6US
Fun weekend running S&P with my new callsign. Went through the band a few
times Saturday & Sunday and worked as many stations as I could.

IC-7300 @ 100w with A99 vertical antenna.

K6ZH
As usual, only limited time available over the weekend (7 hours on the air). The Friday evening JA
run was good. The hoped-for EU runs on Sat. and Sun. mornings didn't happen :-( Tnx for QSOs.

This weekend was the ARRL 10 meter contest. Although the band
conditions were on the poor side. I enjoyed working with all my
friends and operators all over the world. Regardless I had fun
working each and everyone this weekend. De ke2ay. Until the next

So pleased to observe such great band conditions, especially during Saturday. My personal effort was
limited, first QSO logged at 1437z on Saturday. Great runs into EU all afternoon but cut away for
other home activities. Began again on Sunday at 1253z, the EU opening seeming to cut short and not
going as deep as the day before. Ended with about 11-12 hours total operating time. At the start, my
goal was 500 QSOs given my time limitations, very pleased to reach the 800 QSO total.

KE4S
Haven't done LP for quite a while. Quite a few calls I could
hear, but they could not hear me. I knew this would be a
part-time effort, so decided to use this as a re-learning
experiment. A couple of afternoon (local) sessions when
propagation was lee than optimeum, but reasonable DX at times
guided by the AMQ display. Enjoyed it, and got a few points for
the club scpre. Thanks for the contacts.

KE6PO
1st time in this contest after 50+ years as a ham.

KE7KE   [photo/doc]
This was my first contest that I logged the entries and submitted myself. I worked a total of 19
hours. It was fun. I used N1mm for logging. It was a bit of a process. I operated as single
operator high power. I used a hex beam at around 45 feet. A total of 784 contacts with 90
multipliers. I operated by calling contest on multiple parts of the band. I didn't use any spotting
or assistance. The vfo was my friend. I used a foot pedal for a while. Than switched to a hand
operated button.

My name is Kirsten and I'm a 12 years Old. This is my second time participating in the ARRL 10m
Contest. This year I tried CW only as its my favorite mode. I had a busy weekend, but I was able to
find some time to get on the air and make contacts. The radio I used was my Yaesu FTDX1200.

First contest, what a blast!

KF4DX
I had no time to participate in the full contest ( about 12 hours)and conditions were rather
unstable with lots of QSB and by far not on the level of 2024.
I operated from within an HOA with just a 1/4 wavelength home made "stealth groundplane" mounted
outside the house at the second floor.

The band was strange but I'm not going to knock it 'cause at least
it was open except when the sun went down. However, where
JAs Only one heard and worked was JJ0VNR who I heard ESP
Fri. night and finally had a gud sig. just before the end of the
contest. Despite terrible prop forecast on Sat. lots of EU wrkd
on the double hop to Mt. but with a much better forecast for Sun.
only 2 EUs came through. Great cndx to AF, D4C called me on
both modes and SA and Carib vy FB. Wrkg dx barefoot is fun!

Vy gud condx all weekend. Large openings with EU and AS as well
as to the 50 US states and Canada despite a storm system over
Buenos Aires during most of the contest. Vy gud "extra"
competition over the online score server with superb operators as
EA3O, ON6NL and G4ZFE during most of the contest, just cleared on
close run at the last hour of participation. Thanks to all the
patience to recover my humble signal from the noise, this just

Last run of the 'peanut whistle' setup from the home QTH. The 10m dipole @ 20' has done fantastic,
but the hexbeam and Yagi antennas are due to be installed soon.

Always great to work Gilbert, ZD7BG for the ZD7 Mult. (And having been to his QTH this past July,
it is even more special to get him in the log.) Also got lucky and got V51YJ and 7Q2T in the log
from South of the Equator in Africa. TF3W was a Northern hemisphere highlight for the log.

Conditions were not quite as good as previous years. You can tell we are probably past the peak of
the sunspots, and the minor variations in solar conditions did not help.

We did have a strange spotlight opening from here in the Midwest (Missouri at least) to Florida
Friday evening after things otherwise seemed to close. Had over 40 FL stations, with a smattering
of SE US and Northern South American stations in the log after the band faded to the west.

Glad to put all the stations worked in the log.

The 10m band was pretty poor this year. From eastern PA, we could not hear any states between TX/OK

states in the SE, mid-west, NE, etc., but just could not hear them. Prop was long this year. Looking
back at last year's log, I was able to work a lot more nearby states than this year. Oh well..

THIS CONTEST WAS VERY INTERESTING OPERATED SAT WITH A 10 METER WIRE J-POLE IN THE TREES AT A PARK,

N6YU
Best contest ever, and very helpful for operating and station improvements. Fun with all the DX and
propagation changes. My goal was 100 QSOs. and I nearly doubled that! I basically matched sending
speed and had to manage damage from any complicated messages, except for nr or exch. Also, I do
have a timing problem and can’t tell when to start sending. I often jump in and mess up the
timing.

Also used 10 KHz slices to work up the band methodically from bottom to top. Fortunately, 10M has a
lot of space, because the first 110 KHz was pretty busy. There are two multipliers -
States/Provinces & Country (eg DXCC entities).
I optimized for QSO’s - ignoring multipliers (unless opportunistic), only did S&P, and only
working a mult intentionally if it was a targeted QSO; which was typically a signal above S1.

There were two kinds of problems getting a call back. One was they could not pick out the call - it
must have been buried in the noise. The second kind was where I got out of sync or rhythm and the
caller gave up on me and ignored me for the next hassle free QSO.

Too many spots from nc7j and is improved with filtering on n1mm for k and na. I eventually used
NC7J because so many spots were missing from VE7CC due to either filtering settings or busted/dupe
spot in the cluster itself.

N7EPD
K of 5 makes a bad start and was a struggle to get 3 JA stations
Friday night. Short weak Western Europe run Saturday morning but
a good NA/ SA run most of the day. No JA run on Saturday
afternoon/ evening again with K at 2. Bad news for the score!
No Europe Sunday morning except a lone Spanish station. Finally
a JA run just after 2200Z Sunday to break the monotony but lasted
less than an hour. Signals started dropping off the band scope
rapidly by 2330Z and it was already over.

Amazing results and great propagation this year for my Seattle-area QTH. Setup: KX3 at 5w to an EFHW
sloper with apex up 16 feet. Antenna is beneath a heavy stand of trees and between two multi-story
buildings. I had doubts about it being very effective but 10m was wide open and I made Qs to
Hawaii, Nova Scotia, Japan, Argentina, Chile, Mexico and most of the lower 48. No Qs across the
pond. I have to give credit to the Big Gun Ops for digging me out of the pileups. Thanks to all!

Goal was beat last years personal best and enjoy 10m before it crashes!
Had most of the whole weekend to operate. Got on at the start Friday night.
Nice E opening to SE&SW. Pipeline to FL and then TX ppopped in. Put in a
little over 2 hours Friday night with 66 Qs in the log. Satuday morning was
was much better prop to EU than Sunday morning. EU sigs Saturday were much
stronger, eaiser to work, and prop lasted longer than Sunday. Except for a
few big gun EU stations, the rest of EU was much weaker Sunday. There was also a
short E opening to the NW to MN and SD Sunday morning around 13:30utc for
about 45 minutes. Mostly S&P, but did some hit and run-RUNS in between
clicking on spots and crusing up and down the band. When one mode dried up
I'd switch modes and repeat the process. No JA's heard or worked here.
I was able to work a few VK&ZL, but not on the 6BTV. I found the short vertical
160 inverted L has a nice lobe on 10m to the SW. Signals from VK/ZL and HI
were always 2 S units higher than on the vertical with a slightly lower noise
floor. I struggled to work my first ZL on the 6BTV and found the 160 inverted L
made that chore lots eaiser. I was surprised at how many XE states were active
in this contest. Usually I'm lucky if I work one or two XE states. This contest
I was able to work 9 XE states with a couple of multiple stations in same states.
66 unique DX, 33 US states including AK&HI, and 9 VE Prov.
Lots of fun with an aluminum pole on the ground, a few radials and low power.
73, Gene N9TF. K3S 100 watts to 6BTV ground mounted, and occasionally a 22' vertical
160 inverted L 110' horizontal wire 22' above ground traveling SW vertical pole.
It's the "KISS" method! (And also low Mantenance!!)

This was my first true contest of many more to come. It was definitely a learning experience. My
friend and fellow club member, Les, KI5GTR, coached me through some logging software and other
operational tips to get me better prepared.
My station is modest but quite capable and I was able to make 114 QSOs and 12,700pts. Now, I have a
baseline that I cab build on!

The ARRL 10m contest started with a disastrous band fade only 35 minutes into the contest on Friday
at 00:35GMT (Saturday). The Kp went over 5. I only managed 18 QSO's and then turned the radio off.
There was no 10m band left.

Saturday and Sunday were much better conditions. Although I couldn't get a European run going on
Saturday or Sunday. But I did receive some surprising calls like Cape Verde. Other than that, I
mostly ran. My S&P was limited to just 57 QSO's. I found it too slow compared to running.

Also, I had to knock off early on Sunday. My Wife and I had a commitment and I was finished
contesting at 1pm on Sunday. (So I lost 4 hours of operating.) I think I would have easily broken 2k
in Q’s.

Here’s my score from the auroral zone…

Our local WX precluded me popping out in the car for a twilight
start on Fri. Finally pried myself out of the apartment to a fun
and challenging wknd of operating. It was quite the experience to
witness the bottom falling out of the band toward local twilight
on Sat. With no one left to work I went home and accidentally
read the manual (many help pages and files) for N1MM+ I now have
it working and this is the second contest I used it in. That look
at the fine manual really payed off as Sunday demonstrated, with
much more useful info to hand. This truly helped with my
operation. I'm still using 1/4 wave whip antennas on the car for
this. Still I managed to work Namibia and much of S. America
along with a lot of the US. I had but two Cdn contacts which is
always a bit sad. No doubt folks were on however not audible, or
perhaps not running. Some stations might be assuming we're all
Assisted as many "QRZ"s went by with some simply not Iding. A bit
difficult to know if we've worked, or I wish to. Perhaps IDing
isn't cool, or is perceived as less effective. I set a late stage
goal for fun and exceeded it with a bit of margin to hold it.
Probably the most XE stations I've worked, ever! Cool. Good fun
overall. Thanks for working me.

See how Kevin, W1DED over at Q5 World Wide Ham radio has created a cool youtube video from this
yearly poem I write for this very contest.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GllS7rigCv0

I ran my KX3@5W on battery in my livingroom for a few hours on Sat afternoon with an inside antenna
(inv L) but it was really noisy and only about every 10th person could hear me. They pretty much had
to be 599 or greater.

On Sunday I made a little inverted vee and hung it out on the front deck about 5' up (10' AGL) and
I'd say maybe 80% of people could hear me down to the 529 mark in some cases. Much more fun (and
less noisy) I never could hear N2IC.

Persistent strong winds after CQ-WW-CW damaged my homebrew

pointed at NA and EU which performed OK. Would've liked another
yagi pointed at JA, VR, DU, etc, as I missed those QSOs, but
impossible given the time. Heard FY5KE working NA and EU about
1000Z on Sat and Sun on LP, but couldn't work (compared with a
less-crowded 10m in CQ-WW-CW a couple of weeks before when I
worked 3 Caribbean stations via LP with the spiderbeam.) Thanks
to all who answered my calls, and my apologies to those who I
missed. Thanks also to the managers for running the contest!

In the summer of 1973, W0PAN (Contest advisory committee liaison to the board), W3ZZ (CAC Member)
and I (CAC Chairman) were asked to quickly develop a contest for 10 meters. The three of us were at
a convention and closeted ourselves to brainstorm this new contest. I don’t remember why it was
needed or what the urgency was, but we created the 10 meter contest. I don’t think we ever
thought it would survive beyond a few years, but here we are, 52 years later and the 10 meter
contest is going strong as ever.

W2DON
Had some fun in this contest with a dipole in a low tree around family and other obligations. Thank
you to the many other stations on the air for your contacts and patience.

W2NTN
It seemed like it would be fun to try “the road less traveled” for this year’s ARRL 10 meter
contest. So, for me, this contest was a QRP Dipole SSB only, part-time event. It was fit in
between family activities, and an overnight snowstorm, which nicely coated my dipole antenna with
ice and snow for day 2, and sent me outside to shovel.

During the event, it was quite apparent my tiny signal was often at your receiver’s noise floor.
My thanks to all of you who used both your skill and patience to help me complete a contact with
you. If a W2NTN contact is in your log for this event, you can be sure you and your station did the
heavy lifting!

As always, many thanks to ARRL for making this event possible. Many thanks also to all of you who
stay active in this and other events, making it enjoyable for all.

Thanks again to all of you, and enjoy our hobby,

Craig, W2NTN

W9YUM
Great fun! Great way to add countries to the log and to practice pulling out call signs.

WA2AEY
Had fun but conditions were horrible here compared to last year.

WA2CHV
Had fun.

WA2CNV
Bnd Conditions deteriorated somewhat from 2024 but still fun. Had limited time to operate.

WA2LMC
Thanks for the Q's

WA6KHK
Still only using a vertical. 2 towers still down. Won't move for at least 3 months.

Not a great outing for me. The band was "out to lunch" for Friday evening and other random times.
Then the power company chose this weekend to go down, not only knocking me off the air for hours,
but also scrambling the wifi connection for my shack computer. . . BUT I did enjoy the contest
anyway.

Of course, with 100 watts and a stick (vertical), I'm not going to win anything, but I did submit my
log so that the serious contesters who contacted me can verify their QSO's for scoring.

Let's do it again next year!

WB2AMU
Conditions were a bit poorer than last year, making for more
challenges.

WB4CW
It is counterproductive to use cut numbers in a numerical
exchange.

WB4VAM
New to contesting

WB6MPH
I set up near my house using a V-dipole consisting of 2
telescoping whips mounted to a small aluminum tripod. I used a
small battery and about 75 Watts SSB power.

WB8REI
Very good band conditions all weekend. Had a great time!

WB8WUA
I had fun and was quite successful - I was glad to contact HI. I
was happy to hear the band was open and active for this event.
Thanks for this good 10 meter band opportunity.

WB9TFF
WB9TFF and WB9TFF operated under WB9TFF's call as Multi-
Single LP using FT1000 assisted CW Fixed, Yagi Beam.
Mostly S&P. WB9TFF on the leader board during the contest.
Tnx for the q's in the ARRL 10m test. Hpe 2 CUAGN dit dit.

WD0FHK
Once again, Friday night the band stayed open whereas it died w/
sunset Sa and Su. Always interesting!

WD5ABC
Saturday and Sunday evenings the band folded much earlier, Friday it was open later.

WD5N
Was only able to get on at the beginning and end. With my center
fed zepp at 23 feet, I can only hear and work the loud guys, but
it is still fun.

WG8X
First time using QRP for the contest. What a great weekend!

24 foot end fed wire at 12 feet high slopping to 5 feet.

WN7S
Xmas shopping, Costco, football and food were the priorities this weekend.

WO3X
I did much better than in 2024.

WQ6X
This was an ad-HOC Ssb run to break the SOULP record for the SW Division.
Unless log mistakes DING the score, it would seem that I accomplished that goal.
Running only on Sunday, I missed to Saturday openings. Oh well, at least I
I made enough QSOs to break the record.
Look for a write-up on this at: http://WQ6X.Blogspot.com.

Band conditions on Sunday were not as good as Saturday. Pile Ups
and stations transmitting whilst copy reports were not helpful in
ensuring correct information was recorded.
