Comments:

AE0EE   MN   Non-Rookie
I didn't hear many rookies on, and worked pretty much all that I heard. There were a few good runs of non-rookies, and I couldn't tell whether that was stations not understanding the difference between CQ R and CQ RR, or just trying to keep boredom away (it was welcome). There was lots of QSB to fight against, which made things difficult.

AF0U   WI   Non-Rookie
I have a comment on the qualification of rookies. While I've been licensed about 10 years, it's only in the last several months that I've began operating CW. Notably, many of the qualifying rookies have significantly more experience than I do, and I'm still very much a newcomer to the mode.

It might be worth revising the definition of a rookie to include operators who made their first contact on the mode within the last 12 months; this may broaden the pool of eligible rookies while preserving the spirit of the rules.

This said, I did enjoy working the handful of rookies I did and think it's a great way to encourage newer operators to get on the air.

K2NEL   NY   Rookie
This was great! Even though conditions were not wonderful on 20/40 I met some other rookie operators I can now listen for, and some great elmers as well. I'll be back for my final year to be a rookie next December! 73

K4BAI   GA   Non-Rookie
Was QRV for only the last few hours. Worked every Rookie I heard calling. Good luck to all Rookies. 73, John, K4BAI.

K5IX   TX   Non-Rookie
Quiet bands this afternoon; Rookies were like unicorns. Those I did work had nice fists. Glad to work a few '16s before they lose their eligibility next year. 73 de K5IX DAVE 76 TX

K5LGX   TX   Rookie
I made my first ever CW contacts during this event. Thank you for sponsoring an event easing people into the world of CW.

K5TMT   TX   Rookie
My last year as a rookie. It's been fun!

KE8EAS   OH   Rookie
Always a fun contest. I do wish non-rookies responding to our CQ's would first look up what the contest exchange is. I've several times had to tell them the exchange needed. My last year as a rookie, I'll continue to hop on and help the newbies!

NW1BB   ME   Non-Rookie
My first time on CW. Thanks for every ones patience.

W4GHV   NC   Non-Rookie
Band conditions horrible here!

WB0SND   MO   Rookie
Dylan is my 13 year old grandson who is not yet licensed. He was a guest operator at my shack for the Rookie Roundup event. I did not operate as I was just the control operator. Therefore I could not list him with an operator call. Mike WB0SND

WB9TFF   WI   Non-Rookie
This was my first rookie roundup for cw. Even though I am not a rookie, I enjoyed the 4 qso's. I only worked 1/2 hour out of the 6 hours. I hope to participate again. I worked the 12 days of Christmas on ssb. There are so many special events.
