Comments:
KF0JB CO Rookie |
Thanks for opening this event to "RTTY rookies" as well as recently licensed amateurs. The RTTY Rookie Roundup was the push I needed to become active with this mode. |
KI5AIF OK Rookie |
I wish more stations were involved. 100W limit is nice to lower the barrier of entry to be "competitive". Given the popularity of FT8 and FT4, ARRL should copy these rookie rules into a contest for those modes next year. Much better suited to times of poor propagation, and much more widely used. I'm sure there are plenty of reasons that FTx shouldn't be a contest mode... but it'd be fun anyway :) We did well with 50 contacts... but new activity really started slowing down about 3 or 4 hours in. |
N5YHF TX Rookie |
Band conditions were very rough, especially on 40m late in the contest when it started to open up. Did not seem to be a lot of stations on the air this year according to the RBN and spotting networks. |
