I'm working on a Lifetime Unassisted ARRL CW Sweepstakes Clean Sweep.

Only need the New Brunswick (NB) section for the 85 section Clean
Sweep. If tennis players and golfers can complete major tournament
sweeps over their playing careers why can't we apply this concept to
the ARRL Sweepstakes Since I started competing in the ARRL
Sweepstakes in 1970 from K4WAR at Ft. Gordon (now Ft. Eisenhower) in
the Georgia section I've only been able to work the Northwest
Territories (NWT)/Territories (TER) section twice.

K3CCR
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. For 2024
SS CW, I (N3UM) did SOHP U, as the only CW op. I hoped to beat
the 642 Qs and 109 K claimed score I got in 2023 SS CW. I got a
sweep again, but just 600 Qs, 0.935 X the '23 Qs & score claim.
I did 14.5 hrs BIC vs 15.5 in 2023 due to non-ham things. SFI of
255 gave high 20 & 40-M rates, with sigs loud near & far. MUF
closer to 15 & 10 M, so far mults were loud. At start, "run for
closer to 15 & 10 M, so far mults were loud. At start, "run for
max Qs; mults will call you". Good old SS tip. So, I ran on 20 M
2100-0002Z for 167 Qs at 55/hr & 56 mults. Then 0014-0033Z on 15
M I clicked spots for 10 Qs & 9 mults incl AK, TER, & PAC! To 20
M 0037-0109Z for 26 Qs, 24 in a run at 54/hr, + 3 mults. A BK,
then 0130-0503Z I got 158 40-M Qs, 151 in 3 runs at 46-56/hr, +
11 mults. At 0503Z with 361 Qs & 78 mults, QRT to sleep. Back at
1305Z I ran at 68/hr for 83 40-M Qs by 1420Z. Then I clicked 40-
M spots 1423-1438Z for 9 Qs + DE, & 1 15-M spot 1451Z, NL. I ran
on 20 M 1506-1620Z for 57 of 58 Qs at 50/hr, then got WTX on 15
M at 1623Z for 83 mults & quit to eat. Back at 1846Z I clicked
on 15 M for 1 Q, SB, #84! A 10-M Q & at 1850Z, then a 15-M run
1856-2003Z, 43 Qs at 39/hr. On 10 M I clicked spots 2022-2047Z
for 17 Qs. Then I clicked for 25 20-M Qs 2057-2152Z, & got VI at
2146Z for the sweep, from under a pileup. QRT 2152Z with 600 Qs.

"Limited-Ant" overlay perhaps has new meaning from my HOA QTH.... I
connected 35' of #18 stranded wire from my 4:1 balun mounted on top of the lanai
screen enclosure - one 35' length out to a palm tree in the SE corner of the
backyard - and another 35' length out to a bush in the NE corner of the
backyard. Both wires were no more than six feet high off the ground....
Amazingly, I was able to run stations for 90% of my operating time - 9 hours -
and made 400 Q's in 82 sections - missed SB, QC and WY - all unassisted, of
course.... I'm very pleased and absolutely blown away by this!!!! FT-1000MP
Field maybe 70 watts out..... Thanks for the Q's ((and good ears))!!!

Still limited to wire hidden in fence 5 feet in the air (HoA).

K5RX
With antenna for the lower bands under repair, I only operated
10, 15 and 20 meters with an ancient Force 12 C3e up 106'. And
with a faulty refrigerator demanding attention, I could operate
fewer than 13 hours. Even so, with condtions on the higher bands
being excellent, I got a clean sweep sans spots or a second radio
for SO2R.

K5SL
Overslept and was off 6 hr 18m! Never found Wyo, First SSCW in 11 yrs. Still fun, CW op's contest!

K5VG
My first SS after moving to Oregon this summer. I had used this call for 27 years in Virginia,
making the exchange lots of fun when conditions were poor on 40 here. No 220V in the shack yet, so
no amp this year, and no tower yet. Ran 100W on 40-10M using a folded dipole cut roughly for 40M
about 15 ft above the ground. Thanks for the Qs -- see you next year and hopefully will be
improving the dB sent your way.

K6CSL

I operated remotely using my station near Williams, Arizona.

I couldn't operate the whole event so I went "unlimited" and sought
a clean sweep. I was successful; my last two sections
were nearby LAX and SB. I missed my chance to look for them on the
low bands in the evening. On Sunday KA3DRR in SB had
a pileup on 15 and was very weak. Fortunately he moved to 10, his
pileup took a break, and he managed to hear me. NI6W in LAX managed
to hear me through his pileup on 15.

10 meters was in good shape and I got to try out my new 4 element
yagi. Seemed to work well.

Thanks for the QSOs,

73, Dana

K8BZ
My precedence sent was M(multi) but I actually operated single op, high power, assisted. The second
op was supposed to come on Sunday, but he was unable to come. I was already sending M for my
precedence in anticipation that he would come and operate, and I didn't change it when he informed
me he couldn't participate.

Great contest great signals. Lots of key clicks, some strange
noise on 40M, got clean sweep. My CW improved over the weekend.
WAE RTTY next weekend with QTCs and then SSB SS.

Thanks to the Canadians for getting all your new provinces on the air for this contest, and to
Nebraska, Northern New York, West Texas and Virgin Islands for showing up too.

Excellent propagation and good clean fun !

earned the clean sweep by around 04:00 UTC on Sunday!

What an epic day logging Sweepstakes Qs from POTA US-0639 inside the stunning Los Padres National
Forest near San Luis Obispo, California! My first time contesting above 1,000 feet and away from all
the suburban noise—pure bliss.

KA8HOK   [photo/doc]
This was a great weekend. Working VY1CO early in the contest was refreshing as it has been difficult
to find and work in the past. Being near the sunspot maximum for this cycle, 10 meters was great and
80 not so great. I worked 40 QRP stations, they all did very well in repeating the exchange until I
was able to copy all. There was only one QRP station that I was unable to pull out of the noise.
This year my final multiplier that I had to hunt for was SB and it ended up being a KA3 station !
This contest never ceases to be a challenge and a pleasure. I look forward to next year's event.

Operated from the University of Michigan club shack. As an alumni, I wasn't able to operate in the

year, so we decided to play there.

First time operating SS CW from KH6-land. It seems quite far from the
action, with too many hours with no propagation or no one to work.
Many thanks to KH6YY for hosting me at the station after hosting a

Note that I sent VE6BBP "U" as my precedent instead of "Q". He asked for a fill as 'PREC?' and I
sent "U" back, and it didn't dawn on me until I was on to the next contact that my precedent the
software was sending was Q. So, I confirmed U with him.

KK4R
It was a challenging contest, but great fun. First there was the
late start, because we had to help our son clean up his rental
property. But the real challenge was the new source off RFI that
popped up a few weeks ago. Unlike the HVAC noise I had been
living with, it is on 24/7 and wipes out 15 and 20 meters for my
best antenna. At least now I have a back up EFHW that is far
from the houses and the source, but I have to give up some
significant transmit losses to be able to hear. With that
handicap, it was hard to work some stations or run on the high
bands, so daytime ops weren't so good. However, I was bale to
make up for some of that on 40 meters. In the end, I only missed
NB for a clean sweep, and I broke 500 Q's, so it was a success.

KR2H
10 meters was wide open again, but overall activity seemed less than
last year. My first SS was 60 years ago, in the solar doldrums of
1964. Thank you, Cycle 25. Go FRC!

KS7T
So I spent the summer improving my 80 meter vert. so what happens-the band was
wiped out by the horrible solar condx plus storm clouds on ss weekend.
The vert also wrkd on 40 which wasn't its usual great self but I'll take the
east coast qsos I got there. On the higher bands 20 was the usual money band.
I still got 84 sections with my beam on w6(broken rotor) the whole time. The
VO1 I heard calling a stn on 15 was what I missed 'cause he never called cq.
Call cq if ur in a rare section even if QRP. Getting pile-ups is loads of fun!

KV8Q
Now, that was fun!!! Great conditions. Even had fun on 10
meters with 79 Q's there. Pretty well mixed between S&P and
running. Amazing what can be accomplished with my antenna setup
here in the condo. Never heard any NS stations. Pretty much
gave up on SB until I bumped into one on 15 with less than four
hours to go. Heard VY1CO many times on 40 but he never heard me.
Finally got him in the log on 15. Bumped into lots of old
friends - nice to say HI for a moment. 52% of my QSO's were with
CWOps members. Thanks for all the Q's. Can't wait until next
year to do it again. - 73 tom Rig = TenTec Eagle @ 100 Watts.
Antennas = Mag Loop (40 thru 15), an Isotron-80, and an indoor
10 meter dipole, all in the attic 12' above garage floor.

KX7L
I had hoped that the solar cycle peak would enable some great
conditions for this year's SS. A Kp over 3 put a bit of a kabosh
on that idea; 20 seemed to be pretty useless during the day, 15 and
10m were the money bands, though 20 did come alive after sunset.
My best score since 2020, but the most sections I've ever worked (80).
Of course "back in the day" there weren't so many sections...

Enjoyed my first Sweepstakes! As part-time effort I focused on mults. Wish I'd have made it a

N4IW
I operated as much as I could which was minimal. Contacts were
abundant and easy to work every time I logged on. I bounced back
and forth between trying to get new Sections and just working
whoever was next up the band. The only local I worked was Ken
(K4XL), on 10 meters of all places! It was fun while it lasted.
Thanks for the Qs.

N4JRG
Operated from a log cabin on my parents property in east Tennessee. Rig was QRP Labs QMX and SOTA

Sure believe that SO2R should be in their own category.

I really enjoyed the Sweepstakes and worked some great ops.

N6HI
Ran QRP, just ONE HALF WATT to a 20 foot
end-fed wire, thrown into a tree out my window.
Part-Time effort this year, in and out of the shack,
spending time when I could. Worked a little DX, too,
more than I expected in an ARRL Sweepstakes.
Most copied the exchange perfectly on the first shot,
a testament to your stations and your skills!
Getting excited about the CQWWDXCW ... coming up!

Newly acquired hex beam added to the fun!

N7EPD
Who would have thought LAX and DE would be the rare sections this
year Finally picked up a DE station mid Sunday morning and
then lost power about a half hour later!! Finally got the
generator running with power cords rerouted for low power and
guess what LAX was running on the frequency my radio was last
tuned to! Bit of a struggle with low power but SSweep!!!! Power
out through the end of the contest so a struggle with 100W on a
small 2KW generator.

N7VM
After last years log checking results scrambled the top claimed scores, I tried to focus on accuracy
this year. It was definitely a high band affair this year.
Welcome to those for who this is their first SS!

My antenna is a 60-ft wire.

VE4XT
Really enjoyed this year. Bands were great and it was a treat to be able to run as high as 10m.
Topped last year's score by 130Qs and second straight sweep. Odd how the sections went this year:
imagine working a North Dakota station and thinking "Yeah, that one's just insurance," or, after
having worked VO2AC to have VO1HP later answer your CQ! Tough ones were all in the log by bedtime
Saturday: only Puerto Rico, Western Massachussetts, Alabama and Santa Barbara were left to find
Sunday. After chasing KT4XA, I ended up working four other Alabamans.

I operated from my room on the third floor of a rehab hospital. They let me use my IC-746
transceiver. My antenna was a crude 40M inverted vee, with senter in the room and legs drooping down
beside the building ousit through windows. I was surprised at how well it worked!

W1QK
Thank you for the contacts. QRP this year based on the fantastic
band condx. experienced in CQWW SSB. My 40M quad performance was remarkable.
Thanks to the ARRL for sponsoring the conrtest. No CW sweep

First contest and SS with my new callsign. Conditions were
excellent when having more QSO's on 10-meters than any other band!

I always enjoy the CW SS. I started back in 1961 with a Hallicrafters S-85, an Eico 720 kit and
three Novice band crystals. Earned a whopping 600 points and a spot in QST. I was hooked. Looking
at my SEC overview this year I see a big hole. I think I will add an NVIS antenna to catch those
states close to STX.

Bands were good with only some welcome QRN and rain early Sunday morning. Cleared the air for a nice
morning hike. After falling asleep in the comfortable station chair for several hours I needed to
get up and start moving.

WB0TEV
I had other commitments this weekend and limited time so aimed to just work a sweep in 85 QSOs.
Assuming it passes log checking, that's what I did. Last two were Delaware and New Brunswick.

WB6AAJ
I did tests dealing with portable operating operating. I added a 75' foot length of wire from my
existing counter poise system to my MFJ-934 tuner.
I attempted to tune on 160 through 40 meters. Used battery power throughout the tests. The results
were that on 80 and 40 meters I could tune the antenna but was limited to a maximum RF output of 50
watts,on 160 meters was limited to a maximum of 40 watts output before experiencing hot chassis &
key. Power exceeding these levels created hot chassis. An added RF ground wire length of 65' was
connected back to my station RF ground stake. 20 meter propagation was so good I hardly needed to
move the 2 element beam. Kelly/WB6AAJ/San Jose, CA.

WQ6X
This is a reprisal of WQ6X's 2023 SW-Division run.
This was an attempt to reprise last year's S-West Division QRP Win.
I lost some valuable operating time OP'ing at NX6T, and it was worth
it, to contribute to a pair of BiG WiNs.
The Space-WX GoDs were KIND to us this weekend, altho Sunday found
atmospheric noise on 10-meters which was less as a switch to 15 & 20
were made. 40-meters was the big surprise, which is not surprising
when you consider that the transition to 40 was made even before 01:00z.

Signals were AWEsomely LOUD - even the QRP OP's, so I hope the WQ6X
fit that category. The BiG Variable this weekend was the occasionally
pulsing internet connection, which sometimes CLIPPED the opening character
of your callsign. I resolved this by Pressing F5 + F2.
Another useful key definition was FK-12 to send "W E I R D".

Overall this was a fun event. I got to help a contest club and submit
[hopefully] a Division-winning LoG. Then again after all the DINGed QSOs,
who NOSE what score we'll actually end up with.

Found my chair is no longer comfortable to sit in for long, that
my new progressive bifocals won't let me focus on the radio or
screen without tipping my head back, and that my neck can't take
the strain of wearing headphones for long. Also spent the first
couple of hours repairing my antenna. I do this for the fun, but
not so much this time around.

Unfortunately, I couldn't commit a lot of time this yeart ... An excellent 10m band opening, as well
as 15 and 20, made for a great event! Radio was my new Yaesu FTdx10 at 100w, which performed
remarkably well, into my OCF 80m dipole. Tnx for the Q's.
