Comments:
AA6W CA Non-Rookie |
A fun contest! Where were all the rookies this year ? I tuned up and down the 20m and 40m bands for 2 hours. I only worked 1 rookie, and I worked another 4 non-rookies. The bands were not too busy, and definitely lacked many rookies. I will look for more rookies next year. Best wishes in 2020 contest season. My best regards, Don AA6W. |
AC1GF NH Non-Rookie |
Disappointed by lack of rookie participation. Still had fun though.Made many contacts with stations who were not aware of contest. I did not count these in QSO count. |
K4BAI GA Non-Rookie |
Operated about 3 hours and 45 minutes listening on 20, 40, and 80M CW for stations who were rookies or were sending CQ RR. Heard one S&P station on 40M and worked him by calling CQ R because he was only going to be S&P. From what I could hear, other non-rookie stations calling "CQ R" got answered only by other non-rookie stations. This was a big waste of time for me and others and was good only for those few Rookies participating. I suggest that suggested frequencies be added, maybe for CW, 045 to 065 kHz on each band so the universe of frequencies can be reduced for those of us looking for Rookies and for the Rookies to know where to call. It also needs more publicity. Just putting it on the contest webpage and an occasional mention in QST isn't getting the job done. 73, John, K4BAI. |
K5IX TX Non-Rookie |
I look forward to this event every year. Wish there were more Rookies on the air! The rookies I worked had nice fists. |
NS2N NY Non-Rookie |
Hard time finding RR contacts. No problem finding non-activity stations to work. |
