Hi,
I tried to run ARRL Contest as long and much as it was possible, 90% of time in CQ. In the end I
worked 32 contacts for 64 000 points which is exactly the same like in ARRL Contest 2016 and
probably the maximal possible result which I can obtain at very noisy Prague's background with my
single yagi (up to 30 000 people in 3km radius)...

My current equipment is still the same: single 23el home made DK7ZB yagi 5,7m long, 3m long 1/2"
Andrew cable to relay/LNA box with OK1VPZ's LNA ATF54143 about 0,4dB NF and 16m long h1000 cable in
shack, where I use 800W SSPA made by OK1VPZ with about 735W output for very long time JT65 operation
so I call it 1 horse power output;) At the antenna dipole came about 600W.

I hope that this year was the last time when I had been active in ARRL EME Contest with such a QRP
setup and If health allow, I hope to be qrv 70/23cm with bigger station from different QTH in late
2019, but still lot of work have to be done and I fight with lack of free time... but finger
crossed..

Decoded or heard and called but not finished were:
K4EME, W4ZST, I2FHW(CW), KL6M(CW) DF7KB, 4Z5CP, PA3CSG, S59DGO (S51LF), OK1YK, K5DOG, VK4EME (missed

73 & tnx all for your patience with my small station & noisy RX!

Report of S59DGO, 70cm EME contest team:
Because I (S51LF) had some problems with my 70cm setup , I decided to use few equipments of the
radioclub 70cm tropo contest setup. Since the club's colleague Stojan-S56FQC joined me in the
contest, we decided to QRV with the club sign S59DGO on multi op/single band category.
In the first leg ARRL EME contest, we ended up with the QRV in the first hour, because we have
crached one of the yagis (dipole) at 71deg elevation with the support rope of the tower. Result of
this was blow up glitch resistor in the HV power supply of tube amp and failure GaAs-FET on the
LNA..
In the 2nd leg of contest, we were accompanied by rain and a strong wind, which "corrected" azimuth
on the rotator control .. Azimuth I set up using Echo mode and with strong signals of big-guns..HI
At elevations lower than 20 deg, we have big problems with city noise.
All together, we made 41 QSOs from 22 multipliers.
Setup:
TS590SG - Xvrt "Menina" 432/21MHz - LNA 22dB/0.4NF +BPF & notch filter and abt 900w at feed point.

Worked in total 71 QSO and 37 multipliers in ARRL both parts on 70cm. with a lot of new stations in
log.
The first activity with the new dual polarized antennas and I did work some stations with only V
antennas that was not possible with the H array and XE2AT, Alvaro with TX horizontal and RX
vertical.

First part the rain was quite heavy at the beginning and it also gave this seasons first snow so
some SWR cased me to reduce the output power.
On Friday evening Before part 2 I lost elevation indication but it was only a bad connector and
quickly sorted out.
Besides from that everything worked without problems and propagation seemed to be quite good for
most of the time and I experienced higher activity then prevous years.

Only operated on 1 evening during Microwave Contest weekend. The contest is poorly structured for 5
Plus bands of activity in one weekend.

You certainly need to operate both CW and WSJT in order to be successful . Many stations that
"traditionally" I work on CW, I worked on JT...because that is where I found them First. I am sure
you will find that not so many logs will be purely CW or WSJT

VE4MA/W7
250W 1.5M OFFSET

With the smaller antenna and power I had fewer CW QSos. It is actually easier to work them on JT
with a low QRP station. Sitting there listening to CW..."trying to figure out who the hell is it"
on CW takes time! Many CW capable stations are showing up on CW and that is where I caught them
first.

Monitoring the Logger for JT and Some CW spots was usefull. I did not solicit QSOs on there..but
that appears to be a successful strategy. I missed about 10 stations that I had heard/ decoded. I
gave it more effort since USA participation on 1296 was very poor. I expect 2 "new" stations from
AZ to be active next year with more power/ antenna "
